Maximum Reimbursement. The following provision is added to the end of Section 4.5 of Part 2 to the Product Assurance Document: “[CONFIDENTIAL PORTION OMITTED AND FILED SEPARATELY WITH THE COMMISSION PURSUANT TO A REQUEST FOR CONFIDENTIAL TREATMENT].”
Maximum Reimbursement. Employees may be eligible for a maximum reimbursement of $2,000 (two thousand dollars) per calendar year. The maximum reimbursement of $2,000 is counted against the year the course(s) was completed. Specifically, if a course begins in one year, and is completed during the next year, the tuition reimbursement is counted against the year the course was completed. Employees are responsible for claiming tuition aid in accordance with the Income Tax Act. Currently, tuition reimbursement provided for in this policy is not considered a taxable benefit by the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.

Maximum Reimbursement. The maximum annual reimbursement by UHN for educational assistance is $1,200 per employee, irrespective of where the money is distributed from, i.e., if an employee has received the maximum reimbursement from his/her department or Nursing Funds, the employee would not be eligible to receive further reimbursement through the Education Assistance Program. If an employee has been awarded a scholarship, he/she may apply for assistance under this policy to cover the unsupported portion, if any, of the education costs.

Maximum Reimbursement. An individual employee’s maximum eligibility for reimbursement for the use of public transportation in commuting to and from work is equal to half (50%) of the employee’s actual documented costs, not to exceed seventy-five ($75) dollars in reimbursement per month. Each employee receiving transportation reimbursement shall be responsible for any and all tax liability resulting from that reimbursement.
