MEAL, REST PERIODS & SICK LEAVE. A. Employees shall not be required to work more than five (5) hours from the start of the shift without at least a one-half (½) hour unpaid break for a meal. This meal period shall not begin earlier than three and one-half (3½) hours after the start of the shift. If employees are required to work past five hours, they shall be paid one-half (½) hour at the applicable overtime rate and must be allowed time to eat their meal. If not allowed to eat their meal, employees will be paid an additional one (1) hour at the applicable overtime rate.
