Member and Local Union Responsibilities. To ensure that U.A. Standard For Excellence platform meets and maintains its goals, U.A. business managers, representatives, shop stewards and members will: ⮚ Keep Safety at the forefront of everything we do. ⮚ Focus on the quality of work being performed and strive to do it right the first time. ⮚ Arrive at work on time every day. Observe lunch and break times. Absenteeism and tardiness will not be tolerated. ⮚ Take care of the tools and equipment supplied by the contractor. ⮚ Adhere to a zero tolerance substance abuse policy and be fit for work at all times. ⮚ Be productive, keep inactive time to a minimum, and eliminate work disruptions. ⮚ Do your part to ensure a safe and on time completion of the Project. ⮚ Show respect for the contractor and customer. Graffiti, vandalism, or any other form of destruction to property will not be tolerated. ⮚ Demonstrate professionalism by dressing for work in an appropriate manner. Offensive words and symbols on clothing, hard hats and buttons is not acceptable. ⮚ Comply with the contractor’s and customer’s rules and policies. ⮚ Follow safe and reasonable management directives. ⮚ Enhance skill levels by using local and U.A. training classes, and take advantage of the certification system. ⮚ Work with Site Supervision on resolving problems that involve the availability of materials, tools, equipment and information. ⮚ Promptly investigate any jobsite problems and work with the contractor to resolve issues as quickly as possible. ⮚ Accept, abide by and promote the UA “Standard For Excellence.”
