MEMBERS OF THE ACADEMIC STAFF EXCLUDED FROM THE BARGAINING UNIT. 8.1 An academic staff member who is appointed to a position excluded from the Faculty Association shall cease membership and discontinue paying dues for the duration of the appointment, provided the appointment is for more than thirty-one calendar days. At the termination of the appointment to an excluded position, the member shall automatically become eligible for Faculty Association membership, shall commence paying dues, and shall have all rights and privileges as if membership had been continuously held throughout the period of appointment to the excluded position.
