Monthly Rated Employees. Monthly rate employees shall not be subject to sporadic lay-off at the plant during any fishing season. The monthly rate is a preferred condition under which the Company accepts the responsibility of providing continuous employment to monthly paid employees, over as long term a period as is practicable. In this regard, both parties agree there shall be no change in the past practice during the term of this Agreement. Nothing in this section shall prevent the exercise by the Company of Section 6.24 of this Agreement.
