(1) employees may seek election to municipal and school board offices, provided that: (i) the duties of the municipal or school board office other than regular council or board meetings do not impinge on normal working hours as an employee; (ii) there is no conflict of interest between the duties of the municipal or school board office and the duties of the position employee. (2) Where an employee who is elected to a municipal council or school board office is required to attend municipal council or school board meetings held during the employee's normal working hours, the Employer shall grant the employee leave without pay to attend such meetings.
