Negotiations for Successor Agreements. Either the Federation or the Board may request negotiation of a successor agreement by submitting a written request to negotiate between March 1 and March 31 of the year in which the Agreement is scheduled to expire. The written request shall specify the subject matter to be considered in negotiations. Should neither party request to negotiate a successor agreement, this Agreement shall expire on the date on which the Agreement is scheduled to expire.
5-1 1 Negotiations for a successor agreement will be held on mutually-acceptable topics and shall be finalized by May 1 of the year in which the Agreement is scheduled to expire, including mediation if necessary, unless the Federation and the Board agree in writing to extend this deadline. In any event, negotiations must be finalized by June 15 of the year in which the Agreement is scheduled to expire.
5-1 2 Each successor agreement shall have a three (3) year duration beginning on August 1 and terminating on July 31. The period of the Agreement shall be August 1, 2021 through July 31, 2024.
