Common use of New Teachers Clause in Contracts

New Teachers. Subd. 1. Prior Experience: a. Teachers with prior teaching and/or other relevant experience, initial placement on the salary schedule will be at the discretion of the District. At a minimum, teachers with prior teaching experience in a germane field will be granted at least one half of their years of teaching experience in their initial placement on the salary schedule. b. A teacher who is hired by the District and who has served a full year of internship in the District as part of their preparation for a teaching license, shall be granted one year of credit for this internship for schedule advancement at the time a continuing contract is granted in the District. c. All years granted by the District will be considered proficient.
