POSITIONS OF ADDED RESPONSIBILITY. 17.1 The allocation of the number of PAR positions and allowances to secondary schools shall be the responsibility of the Joint Secondary Staffing Committee. The Committee shall use the funding formula to determine the number of PAR positions using the Board-approved projected ADE for students under twenty-one years of age and for students twenty-one years of age and over.
17.2 The distribution to schools shall normally be completed by 7 February for the following school year using the 31 October enrolment of the current school year rounded to the nearest hundred which includes all students enrolled at the school.
POSITIONS OF ADDED RESPONSIBILITY. 37.01 Program Leaders shall be assigned to schools as follows: 299 or Fewer Mutual Agreement of Board and Union
37.02 An allowance shall be paid for the school year to be determined by (funding formula allocation) # of positions
37.03 Positions will be for a period of three years with incumbents having the ability to reapply.
37.03.1 Should the enrollment decrease below one of the benchmarks established in 37.03 above, those Program Leaders found surplus to the school’s needs will continue in their position for the duration of their term appointment. Reduction in the number of Program Leaders will be through attrition or the expiration of the term contract.
37.04 Acting positions will be posted internally to the schools for positions which become vacant for a period of less than one year.
37.05 a) Program Leaders’ responsibilities may include areas such as: Subjects, Subject Groupings, Secondary School Reform, School Growth, Special Education, Assessment & Evaluation, Curriculum Implementation and Professional Development.

13.06.01 Regardless of the PAR model in any school, in the event that there is a vacancy in a position of added responsibility, no teacher will be assigned any duty normally carried out by the teacher who has vacated the position.
13.06.02 Each year, school staffs, in consultation with the Principal, may review the number and kind of PARs based on school needs. The total cost shall not exceed what has been assigned to the school, and the combined cost of all PARs in the Board shall not exceed the revenues generated in the Department Head line of the Provincial Funding Formula.

18.1 The duties of a Teacher in the position of Administrative Co-ordinator are as follows:
POSITIONS OF ADDED RESPONSIBILITY. (a) Consultant positions are four (4) year term positions. Should restructuring result in a teacher losing his/her Consultant position, prior to the end of the term appointment the Consultant will maintain the Consultant allowance for a maximum of two years or to the end of the term appointment, whichever comes first and will be offered:
(i) a vacant headship, if the teacher was formerly a head in a subject area for which he/she holds the appropriate qualifications. If no such headship is available, he/she will maintain recall rights to the first available headship, for which he/she holds appropriate qualifications, for two years.
(ii) a return to the same school assigned prior to becoming a Consultant, subject to staffing procedures.
(b) All secondary schools, except Century and Western will be allocated a minimum of six (6) Department Heads in the following areas: English, Guidance, Mathematics, Physical Education, Science, Social Science (which may contain one or a combination of History, Geography and/or Family Studies).
