NID to NID Connection. Rather than connecting its loop directly to GTE's NID, NEN may also elect to install its own NID and effect a NID to NID connection to gain access to the end-user's inside wiring. 4.2.1 If NEN provides its own loop facilities, it may elect to move all inside wire terminated on a GTE NID to one provided by NEN. In this instance, a NID to NID connection will not be required. NEN, or the end-user premise owner, can elect to leave the GTE disconnected NID in place, or to remove the GTE NID from the premise and dispose of it entirely.
