Common use of Nomination and Selection Clause in Contracts

Nomination and Selection. a. The mentor teacher nominating committee may nominate to the Board of Trustees any eligible teacher who applies, excluding leadership team members. b. Nominations will be made using forms distributed for that purpose by the committee. c. Nominations for mentors to serve in each academic year must be made to the committee by the end of September of the service year. d. The committee will evaluate and screen the nominees on the basis of criteria set forth in this Article, in executive session. e. The committee will report its list of final nominees to the Board of Education no later than the second Board meeting in October. f. The Board will designate by the second Board meeting in October those teachers who shall serve as mentor teachers for the following academic year. g. The selection committee shall choose nominees by majority vote for recommendation to the Board of Education. A “majority vote” shall mean a majority vote of those present.
