Normal Work Day and Work Schedule. ‌ For personnel in the Fire Department assigned to 24 hour duty shifts, the normal work day and work schedule shall be twenty-four (24) hours on duty immediately followed by forty-eight (48) hours off duty and will consist of a 55.08 hour work week. For personnel in the Fire Department assigned to a schedule of five (5) consecutive workdays, the normal workday shall consist of eight (8) consecutive hours which may be interrupted by a lunch period; the normal workweek shall consist of forty (40) hours per week.‌
