Notice to Supervisors. An employee who wishes to be absent from work must secure authorization from his/her supervisor prior to the absence. If an emergency, such as critical illness or severe injury, prevents an employee from requesting leave in advance, the employee will notify his/her supervisor of the reason for the absence as soon as possible.
