Notification Procedures. 10.1.1 The unit member shall notify the immediate supervisor as soon as possible in advance of all leaves and shall receive approval in advance of the taking of a leave except in the case of an emergency. 10.1.2 In case of an emergency leave or sick leave, a unit member who finds it necessary to be absent from duty shall notify the immediate supervisor or his/her designee during regular school hours, or the District substitute calling system after regular hours, but in no event later than 7:00 a.m. or one hour prior to the start of school, whichever is earlier, on the day of the absence, except under extenuating circumstances.
