OF WORK. An employee shall not be required to work more than seven and one-half (7 hours within an eight (8) hour period after commencing work. The requirement to sign in and out will be applied to bargaining unit employees on department wide basis. If a department elects to introduce a sign in and sign out requirement for bargaining unit employees, the Union will be advised in Staff Planning prior to the introduction of the requirement. The Hospital will endeavour to distribute overtime on an equitable basis, subject to availability. Where uniforms are required, the Hospital shall either supply and launder uniforms or provide a uniform allowance of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per year, effective November in a lump sum payment in the first pay period of November of each year. Notwithstanding the foregoing, where the overtime assignment is for a period of three (3) hours, no more or less, the employee is not required to take a hot meal, if available, and may claim the five dollars ($5.00) payment. Call-back shall not be considered as hours worked for the purpose of this Article. Overtime premium will not be duplicated nor pyramided nor shall other premiums be duplicated nor pyramided. At the request of a part-time employee, such employee may be permitted to take compensating time off in lieu of overtime on the basis of one and one-half (1 hours for each hour of overtime worked.
