Other Job-Related Injuries. An employee may elect to use accumulated vacation or sick leave or both during a period of absence due to compensable illness or injury. Any employee incurring an on-the-job injury shall be paid the employee’s regular rate of pay for the remainder of the work shift. Such leave may be used on the following basis: 1. transfer of the Workers' Compensation benefits to the state to be credited to the employee's sick leave or vacation accrual in proportion to the amount of compensation received and accept sick leave or vacation time for the compensable sickness or injury; or 2. keep the Workers' Compensation benefits and supplement same from accumulated sick leave or vacation leave. In no event may the total rate of compensation exceed the regular compensation of the employee.
