Paid Certification and Training Leave. Where the Employer requires as part of its program delivery, certification or in- service training, the Employer shall provide the training at no cost to the employee. The employee shall be paid his/her regular hourly rate for all hours spent by the employee in such certification or in-service training. Certification as set out above shall not include the maintenance of entrance level qualifications required on hiring. However, where the Employer requires as part of its program delivery, recertification of the entrance level qualifications, the Employer shall provide training or shall reimburse the tuition costs provided the employee received approval by the manager prior to the commencement of the training and provided that the employee has successfully completed the training.
