Common use of PAID EMERGENCY SERVICES LEAVE Clause in Contracts

PAID EMERGENCY SERVICES LEAVE. In addition to the unpaid community service leave set out in the NES, at the discretion of the Employer, whose discretion will be exercised on the basis of operational requirements and what is reasonable in a particular circumstance, the Employer will facilitate an Employee who is a member of a voluntary emergency relief organisation such as the Rural Fire Services, Red Cross, St Xxxx Ambulance and the State Emergency Services to be released from normal duty without loss of pay (up to a maximum of three shifts per year) to assist in regard to a critical incident where a local emergency situation arises that requires the attendance of the Employee.
