Emergency Services Leave. (a) An Employee who engages in a voluntary emergency management activity is entitled to be absent without loss of pay from his or her employment for a total of 5 days per annum commencing at the start of each calendar year. For the avoidance of doubt, any days not utilised by the Employee by the end of the calendar year, do not carry over into the subsequent year.
(b) Voluntary emergency management activity has the meaning provided by the FWA.
Emergency Services Leave. 29.1 Subject to operational requirements, paid leave of absence shall be granted by the employer to an employee who is an active volunteer member of State Emergency Service, St Xxxx Ambulance Brigade, Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Xxxx Fire Brigades, Volunteer Marine Rescue Services Groups or FESA Units, in order to allow for attendances at emergencies as declared by the recognised authority.
29.2 The employer shall be advised as soon as possible by an employee, the emergency service, or other person as to the absence and, where possible, the expected duration of leave.
29.3 The employee must complete a leave of absence form immediately upon return to work.
29.4 The application form must be accompanied by a certificate from the emergency organisation certifying that the employee was required for the specified period.
29.5 An employee, who during the course of an emergency, volunteers their services to an emergency organisation, shall comply with subclauses 29.2, 29.3 and 29.4.
Emergency Services Leave a) The company is an essential service and release of employees has to have regard to the company operational requirement to meet its customer and community demands during times of emergency. Employees will be provided with paid leave to attend to emergency service issues that relate to threats such as xxxx fires & floods where practicable in their local community. No limit shall apply to this leave, however proof will be required of participation/attendance and each case will be examined on its merits, having regard to the company’s operational requirements.
b) Other Local needs relating to emergency services close to the employee's home and community will continue to get company support.

6.17.4 The application form must be accompanied by a certificate from the emergency organisation certifying that the Employee was required for the specified period.
6.17.5 An Employee who, during the course of an emergency, volunteers their services to an emergency organisation, shall comply with clauses6.17.2, 6.17.3and 6.17.4.
Emergency Services Leave. (a) If the Employee is a registered member of a volunteer Organisation and is called upon, the Employee will be released from normal duties without loss of salary or entitlements to participate in fire fighting, flood relief, or other declared emergency activity.
(b) Verification of the Employee's bona fide involvement in an emergency activity is required and should be in the form of a written statement from the relevant authority (eg. Country Fire Authority, State Emergency Service) which states the nature of the activity and period of service required of the Employee.
Emergency Services Leave. AT A GLANCE
17.16.1 It is Council policy to recognise and support the vital contribution that permanent employees who are members of Local Emergency Services organisations and to ensure they are not disadvantaged.
17.16.2 Council provides leave to active members for the purposes of providing volunteer support during periods of declared natural disasters and/or events declared under Section 44 of the Rural Fires Act 1997 (NSW) within the Port Xxxxxxxx Local Government Area.
17.16.3 Any employee seeking leave in accordance with this policy must submit a leave application for approval by their supervisor and forward it to payroll for processing. All applications must have supporting documentation, which shows they are required to fulfil service commitments.
17.16.4 Approval for such leave will be at the discretion of a member of the Senior Leadership Team or by delegated authority. Approval can be withheld if the employee’s absence will cause exceptional inconvenience or jeopardise the safety of other employees or members of the public.
17.16.5 Employees should advise Council of their membership(s) of any emergency services organisation, preferably at commencement of employment or upon becoming a member of any emergency services organisation(s). Employees should, wherever possible, seek approval to take leave before commencing leave. If proof of attendance at an emergency can be obtained, the employee should provide it to Council.
17.16.6 The period of leave which is allowable will be at Council’s discretion and will vary according to the circumstances of each case. In the case of a declared emergency, it should not continue past the date the declaration is revoked.
17.16.7 Employees required to take emergency services leave will be paid at the ordinary rate of pay. If an employee receives any payment from the emergency services authority, this amount is to be deducted from their usual wages and salary.
17.16.8 Employees required to assist in the fighting of fires or other activities deemed dangerous to their health may be required to provide Council with a medical certificate advising they are fit to resume duties prior to them returning to work.
17.16.9 An employee’s contract of service will continue uninterrupted during the leave period.
17.16.10 Emergency services leave cannot be taken during a period of annual or long service leave or rostered days off.

Emergency Services Leave. 39.2.1 Employees who are registered members of a volunteer organisation who wish to respond to a declared emergency situation may be released from their normal duties without loss of pay to participate in fire-fighting, flood relief or other emergency activity provided that:
(a) release for volunteer activity does not inconvenience the operations of the YMCA Workplace; and
Emergency Services Leave. 44.1 Staff members will be entitled to leave to engage in voluntary emergency management activities in accordance with the Community Service Leave provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009 (see Chapter 2, Part 2-2, Division 8 of the Act).
Emergency Services Leave. 7.9.1 A team member other than a casual, involved in recognised voluntary services including SES and fire fighting shall be entitled to paid time off to attend to emergency situations which may affect the community as a whole.
7.9.2 It shall be the responsibility of the team member to keep Target informed about the time off needed to attend to emergency duties.
7.9.3 To receive payment, a team member shall provide Target proof of attendance to the emergency situation.
7.9.4 Paid time off for attendance at emergencies in the local area shall not be unreasonably restricted nor accessed, and shall be limited to a maximum of 3 days per situation.
7.9.5 Paid time off for attendance to emergencies that are not local shall be a limited to a maximum of two days per annum, but may be increased, and depending on the nature of the emergency (e.g. major xxxx fire) subject to Target approval.
