PARENT OBLIGATION LEAVE. The Board of Education shall allow employees, who are parents, guardians, or grandparents having custody of one (1) or more children in K-12, inclusive, to take off up to forty (40) hours each school year, not exceeding eight (8) hours in any calendar month of the school year, to participate in school activities of any such child. Employee(s) may utilize personal necessity or personal business leave for such school visits. The employee may also utilize time off without pay to conduct such school visits. The employee shall provide the school District with twenty- four (24) hours advance notice prior to making such a school visit during normal work hours.
