Secondary Counselors. Secondary counselors shall work ten (10) mandatory days in addition to the regular schedule for bargaining unit employees: five (5) work days prior to the employee report date at the beginning of the school year and five (5) work days after the last employee work day. Pay for these ten (10) days shall be at pro-rata rate.
Secondary Counselors. Secondary counselors whose caseloads exceed 450 students (on the October student count day) will be paid an additional $500 per semester; caseloads which exceed 550 students will be paid an additional $1,000 per semester.

Secondary Counselors. In order to meet the needs of students, secondary counselors are needed during the summer break for student scheduling, family advisement, and other tasks necessary to successfully start a new school year. The Board of Education and EASMC mutually agree to the convening of a joint study committee during the 2015-2016 school year to consider how best to address the desired summer work commitments. The committee's recommendations will be forwarded to the negotiations teams for consideration during 2015-2016 negotiations for FY17 and beyond. For FY16, the year in which the study committee is convening to discuss a long-term plan, middle and high school counselors who volunteer to work in the summer beyond their current ten-month assignments will be compensated at their per diem rates for each day worked in accordance with the table below. This allocation per counselor is based on the number of counselors assigned to each school. Each eligible counselor who volunteers to work these extra days shall coordinate the schedule of additional summer duty days with the other participating counselors at the assigned site and submit the draft schedule to the site administrator for final approval. Secondary Counselors. For the 2023-2024 school year, Middle School counselors will have a ratio of 1:350 full-time equivalent students, grades 6-8. High school counselors will have a ratio of 1:300 full-time equivalent students, grades 9-12. FTE for secondary counselors will be assigned in .5 increments. FTE for secondary choice schools will be allocated in .1 increments. Starting the 2024-2025 school year, Middle school counselors will have a ratio of 1:315 full-time equivalent students, grades 6-8. High school counselors will have a ratio of 1:240 full-time equivalent students, grades 9-12. FTE for secondary counselors will be assigned in .5 increments. FTE for secondary choice schools will be allocated in .1 increments.
Secondary Counselors. Secondary Counselors will be staffed at one per 400 students. The calculation will be based on total secondary student enrollment on May 1 of prior year. Overages will be paid at $5 per student per quarter paid quarterly for each student that exceeds 400.
