Partnership History. UEBB’s Departments for Women and the Baptist Women’s Network has cooperated closely for more than 60 years. The Women’s Network in Denmark has supported their Burundian partners with various project support, training and education as well as means for conferences, seminars and income generating activities. A centre for women has also been supported as well as building of small shops for renting and selling produce of the women’s work around the country. The Women’s Network in Denmark normally visits Burundi annually. During a visit in 2011 the need for exploring the possibility of supporting the women further in their efforts in assisting the women’s work in the local congregations was identified. The field visit along with formal meetings with the leadership of the women resulted in a closer relationship between the Burundian and Danish women and a wish for taking the partnership to another level, which is the aim of creating this partnership agreement.
