Penalty for Lost Clothing or Misuse of Clothing. ‌ Each employee will be required to sign an authorization to enable the District to deduct from the employee's wages the amount of money necessary to replace, except for normal use, the employee's District-furnished clothing, safety devices and/or equipment, in the event the clothing, safety devices and/or equipment is not returned when required, or is defaced or is willfully damaged. An employee, who willfully defaces, destroys or misuses District- furnished clothing, safety devices and/or equipment is subject to disciplinary action, including dismissal. The employee will not be held responsible for clothing lost while being laundered by the District; nor will the employee be held responsible for protective clothing or equipment stolen from areas over which the employee has no control.
