Protective Clothing. 14.1 The Employer will be required to provide the following protective equipment (SAA approved) for use, when necessary, by employees during the performance of their required duties:
a) Safety helmets;
b) Ear/hearing protection;
c) Gloves;
d) Skin protective cream/sun screen (30+ rating) In addition, one pair of UV-rated safety glasses or UV rated clip-ons’ suitable to overlay prescription spectacles (as recommended by the Victorian Building Industry Consultative Committee) shall be made available for employees who are required to work on reflective surfaces such as: • Metal decking; • Large concrete slabs exposed to sunlight; • Roofing; • Curtain xxxxxxx;
Protective Clothing. The Hospital agrees to continue its present practices with respect to the provision of protective clothing and safety devices to employees. The Hospital further agrees to meet directly with the representative of the Union or through the Accident Prevention Committee to discuss the need for any protective clothing or safety equipment in addition to that which the Hospital is presently providing.
Protective Clothing. The Employer shall supply suitable gloves or other protective clothing to employees required by the Employer to wear same and/or where the WCB requires the Employer to provide same.
Protective Clothing. The Enterprise will ensure that employees are in possession of protective clothing in accordance with this Clause. Overalls or trousers of the following types and quantities:
a) Approved (AS) safety footwear appropriate to the classification of work being carried out.
b) two sets of combination overalls; or
c) two sets bib and brace overalls plus two drill shirts; or
d) two sets drill trousers and two drill shirts; or
e) work denims at cost no greater than either items b) or c) or d) above. One Tasmanian Bluey Jacket, or other approved equivalent apparel following consultation between the Enterprise and the union, will be issued on the first occasion to a new employee between 1 May and 31 August. The replacement of such jacket will be on a fair wear and tear basis only. Where an employee has not sought replacement of his/her issue of protective clothing as provided above on a fair wear and tear basis within twelve months from the date of issue, that employee will be entitled to a re-issue of the apparel at the completion of that twelve months. All protective clothing and footwear supplied will be Australian made. Where Australian made protective clothing and footwear is not available, discussion will be held with the Union/s on a suitable alternative. Where any employee has received any of the above items from a previous Enterprise by way of a Site Agreement, Industry Agreement or normal condition of employment, the above items will not be re- issued until replacement on a fair wear and tear basis is required. No agreements for cash in lieu of protective clothing will be permitted. Where any employee’s protective clothing is stolen, the Enterprise may require proof of the theft before issuing replacement clothing. The proof of the theft may be in the form of a Statutory Declaration from the employee. Where any employee claims to have not been issued with protective clothing by a previous Enterprise, the Enterprise may require all necessary details from the employee to validate the claim. These details may be supplied in the form a Statutory Declaration by the employee at the Enterprise’s request. Irrespective of the Enterprise, the protective clothing and footwear as outlined above will be replaced on a fair wear and tear basis upon receipt of issued clothing. Protective Clothing. The Employer shall provide adequate protective clothing where the need arises. This shall normally include smocks, laboratory coats, or coveralls where the employee's clothes may be soiled due to the work situation.
Protective Clothing. 24.1 This Article shall apply to all Employees in job classifications set forth in the collective agreement between Local 5167 and the City, who are currently entitled to such safety apparel, clothing and footwear. The City agrees that where safety equipment and protective clothing are required to be worn by Employees it will supply those Employees with such apparel. Where the Employer requires a uniform, it will supply Employees with such uniform.
(a) When required by the Employer, employees shall be provided:
(i) safety glasses and prescription safety glasses, where required.
(ii) hearing/ear protection (noise control).
(iii) rubber gloves.
(iv) 1 pair of rubber boots or overshoes.
(v) lined rubber gloves (winter issue). As the case may warrant, where prescription safety glasses are broken or damaged at work the Employee shall first seek reimbursement through the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. If the WSIB fails to cover all or part of the prescription safety glasses replacement costs the City will reimburse the Employee the applicable amount.
(b) Those Employees in the Print Service Section, the Microfilm Facilities Section, Child Care Centres, or providing cooking, housekeeping or cleaning services shall be provided coveralls or smocks when requested .
(c) The Employer will make available at all work locations of Facilities/Property and Maintenance Employees, a sufficient number of all-weather coats for the use of these Employees if they are required in the course of their duties to work outside in inclement weather.
24.3 This article outlines the default clothing provided. The parties may negotiate alternate entitlements at the appropriate Labour Management Committee.
(a) All Employees that fall within the scope of “Outside Workgroup” shall be issued the following clothing within 30 days of the date of hire:
(i) 1 pair of leather and cotton gloves
(ii) 1 insulated winter coveralls, either standard issue or safety issue
(iii) 1 pair of rain pants or leggings
(iv) 1 safety helmet with liner (v) 1 safety vest (vi) 1 rain jacket
Protective Clothing. No agreements for cash in lieu of protective clothing shall be permitted.
48.1 The employer will ensure that their employees are in possession of protective clothing and safety equipment in accordance with this clause. Protective Clothing
48.2 The following will be supplied to all employees within two (2) weeks of the employee starting employment :-
Protective Clothing. Where employees are required to work in water they shall be supplied with rubber boots.
Protective Clothing. (a) Protective clothing is understood to mean wearing apparel which protects the employee and the employee's clothing from excessive dirt, grease, sparks or chemicals.
(b) The Employer agrees to supply protective apparel in accordance with Memorandum of Understanding #3.
Protective Clothing. A. When the State requires protective clothing to be worn, the State shall provide the protective clothing. Employees or the Union may request the issuance of protective clothing.
