Period Definitions. The bi-weekly period mentioned above is defined as a fourteen (14) day period of time commencing on a Sunday (0001 hours) and ending on a Saturday (2400 hours). A day is defined as a twenty (24) hour period commencing at 0001 hours and ending at 2400 hours. An employee's normal work day is: an eight 8- hour shift of eight (8) consecutive hours or a shift of consecutive hours as may be otherwise established by the Chief of Police in the interest of pubic health, safety and welfare.
