Common use of Periodic Position Clause in Contracts

Periodic Position. Position in which the annual work period is between six (6) and eleven (11) consecutive months. A periodic position is either full time or part time. A part-time position must at least correspond to the equivalent of a full-time position of four (4) months. The workload and the vacation inherent to a periodic position must be included in its duration. Thus, the employee cannot occupy his or her position beyond the determined period. A temporary employee cannot be hired so as to extend the duration of the position. The Board may not divide a full-time position, other than a periodic position, into several periodic positions, unless there is a written agreement with the Union.
