Common use of Periodic Use of EIB Benefits Clause in Contracts

Periodic Use of EIB Benefits. In certain cases, employees may use EIB benefits on a periodic basis after the second (2nd) consecutive workday [or sixteenth (16th) hour] lost. Such cases would include employees returning to work part-time (transitioning back to work), employees receiving intensive, ongoing treatment, situations where an employee, spouse, spousal equivalent, or a dependent child has multiple absences for a single illness or situations in which an employee returns to work after using EIB benefits but the employee’s condition worsens. The Employer reserves the right to require reasonable written proof in such cases, including a physician’s statement.
