Shift Cancellation. If a nurse is cancelled by the Employer from the entire scheduled shift with less than twelve (12) hours notice of the commencement of such shift, he/she shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours regular pay.
Shift Cancellation. A shift cancellation occurs when an employee does not work any portion of the scheduled shift because of lack of work. The Employer may place the Adult Critical Care and Labor & Delivery employees on-call consistent with the provisions of Article 7.6.3. Other employees may choose to be on-call at the Employer’s request, or remain at home using accrued leave or leave without pay at the employee’s discretion.
Shift Cancellation. (a) If a nurse’s scheduled tour for visiting nursing is cancelled with less than two (2) hours notice in advance of the starting time of the scheduled shift for visiting nursing, she will receive two (2) hours pay at her regular rate. A cancellation of all or part of a single shift shall not be considered a layoff.
(b) In the event that it becomes necessary to cancel a nurse’s shift, shifts of part-time nurses will be cancelled before those of a full-time nurse. Shift cancellation will also be done in the reverse order of seniority wherever possible.
Shift Cancellation. If it becomes necessary to cancel a shift, with less than twenty-four hours notice, employee(s) shall be paid four hours at their regular rate of pay.
Shift Cancellation. Where an employee has her shift cancelled, the employee shall not be entitled to displace another employee.
Shift Cancellation. The Employer will notify Employees of a shift cancellation with as much advance notice as possible. If notice is given with less than forty-eight (48) hours’ notice, the Employer will pay a minimum pay of two (2) hours at the regular hourly rate to the Employee whose shift was canceled. If notice is given with less than eight (8) hours’ notice, the Employer will pay the Employee whose shift was canceled four (4) hours at the regular hourly rate. If the shift cancelation is beyond the control of the employer, the above shall not apply.
Shift Cancellation. In the event of the need to cancel a shift on a unit without notice, such cancellation shall be done in the following order on the unit:
(a) Nurses from an Agency, in an order determined by the Hospital.
(b) Nurses at premium pay, by reverse order of seniority.
(c) Volunteers to take time off, (e.g., vacation, lieu time, unpaid leave of absence or combination), by order of seniority.
(d) Casual nurses, by reverse order of seniority.
(e) Regular part-time nurses, by reverse order of seniority.
(f) Full-time nurses, by reverse order of seniority.
Shift Cancellation. Any shift cancelled within forty-eight (48) hours for third party contracts and twenty-four (24) hours for any other situations of the time the shift is scheduled to start, including Court Duty in Article 30.1 and 30.2, shall be compensated by four (4) hours of straight pay or six (6) hours of compensatory time, unless the funding source does not permit such compensatory time, in which case four (4) hours of straight pay shall be given.
Shift Cancellation. 18:01 In the event that the University exercises its discretion to cancel an employee’s shift for reasons other than emergencies, unforeseen circumstances or situations beyond the University’s control, reasonable efforts will be made to notify the employee of such cancellation as far in advance as practicable. Should the University fail to notify an employee of such cancellation at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the employee’s scheduled starting time for that shift, the University shall pay the employee the employee’s assigned hours of work for that shift at the employee’s regular hourly rate.
Shift Cancellation. If the Employer deems it necessary to cancel a scheduled shift, it shall cancel casual employees in reverse order of seniority, prior to cancelling regular part- time or full-time employees. If it is necessary to cancel a regular part-time or full- time employee, the Employer shall select the least senior employee scheduled to work the shift on the affected unit, within the affected classification, provided that the employees who remain possess the required skills. The employer shall provide twenty (20) hours notice for shift cancellation. Where such notice is not provided the employee will be paid the overtime rate for the next scheduled shift.
