Common use of Personal Days Provision Clause in Contracts

Personal Days Provision. One (1) Personal Day per calendar year will be available for all full-time employees. Employees with 10 or more years for service will receive two (2) Personal days per calendar year. Section 16.6.1 Newly hired full-time employees will be eligible to use their Personal Day beginning on their 91st day of employment. Section 16.6.2 For employees with 10 or more years of service, Personal Days will be awarded on January 1st of the year following completed service for all non-exempt and exempt employees. Section 16.6.3 Personal Days do not accrue and do not carry-over into the subsequent calendar year if not used. Unused Personal Days are forfeited at the end of the applicable calendar year. Section 16.6.4 Personal Days will be paid for 8 hours only – regardless of the number of hours an employee usually works in a regular workday Section 16.6.5 Personal Days cannot be donated to other employees and there is no hardship cash- out of Personal Days. Section 16.6.6 Employees are responsible for taking their Personal day and requesting approval in a timely manner Section 16.6.7 The Employer is responsible for providing adequate opportunity for employees to utilize their annual Personal Day. Section 16.6.8 Status changes to ineligible status (part-time, on-call) will make the employee ineligible for a Personal Day. Section 16.6.9 Employees who change to full-time status will be eligible for a personal day if they have satisfied the 90-day waiting period. The original date of hire will determine the 90- day waiting period. Section 16.6.10 Employees on Leave of Absence cannot access their Personal Day until their return to full-time status. Section 16.6.11 Personal Days do not accrue and are not paid out at termination unless required by state law.
