Personnel and Training. A. The City shall hire sufficient personnel to accomplish the requirements of this Scope of Services, including permitting, inspections, monitoring, and other required duties. Said personnel shall be provided proper equipment to accomplish their duties, including a dedicated 4 wheel drive vehicle for beach and dune monitoring and inspections, and any other required equipment. Required vehicles and equipment may be purchased using funds provided under this Cooperative Agreement. B. The City shall conduct a training program for new personnel employed to carry out the services in (I.) through (V.) above. 1. Personnel training must be conducted to ensure knowledge of (1) appropriate provisions of the Alabama Coastal Area Management Plan document, (2) appropriate state acts, (3) applicable federal laws, (4) ordinances, and (5) ADEM Division 8 Coastal Program rules. 2. A minimum of two hours of initial training and additional refresher training, as needed, must be provided for each employee. 3. A record of training conducted shall be maintained to document the subject matter, hours, dates, attendees and instructors. 4. Upon request, the Department will provide technical assistance in providing required training.
