Plinths, Walls and Floors. The contractor needs to break away all cracked (at least 20mm into cracked concrete) and damaged concrete behind the rebar and clean to the engineer’s approval. Contractor then needs to use a concrete repair material in accordance to the supplier’s specifications or the product MDS to repair the damaged areas. Note that concrete repairs are estimated at 2m³ of concrete and 60m² of vertical formwork. Once repair concrete has cured sufficiently according to the suppliers MDS, all surfaces need to be coated with a highly chemical resistance resin coating. Concrete repair materials must comply with the following:  Alkaline properties provide protection to the reinforcing steel.  High levels of early strengths. 20 MPa in 24 Hours.  High abrasion resistance.  Applied by the wet or dry spray process for fast, exceptionally high-build repairs with enhanced characteristics.  Extremely low permeability provides maximum protection against carbon dioxide and chlorides ingress.  Excellent bond to the concrete substrate.  Compensates for shrinkage in the plastic and hardened phase.  Constant quality and performance (pre-blended).  Non-toxic.  Contains no chloride. Chemical Resistant Resin Coating material must comply with the following properties:  High chemical resistance not possible with standard epoxies  May be used as a laminating resin  For high chemical resistance screeding  For sealing porous elements such as concrete and wood All proposed products must be submitted to the site engineer for approval. Once products have been approved, a detail method statement for application of these products must be submitted for approval.
