Common use of Post-hospitalization Medical Expenses Clause in Contracts

Post-hospitalization Medical Expenses. We will indemnify the Insured Person’s Post-hospitalization Medical Expenses incurred following an Illness or Injury that occurs during the Policy Period as advised by the treating Medical Practitioner provided that: a. We have accepted a claim for Inpatient Care under Section 2.1 (Inpatient Care) above. b. We will not be liable to pay Post-hospitalization Medical Expenses for more than 90 days immediately following the Insured Person’s discharge from Hospital. c. Post-hospitalization Medical Expenses can be claimed under the Policy on a Reimbursement basis only. d. This benefit is not applicable for expenses incurred outside India as defined under Section 3.3.1 (Emergency Medical Evacuation – outside the geographical boundaries of India), Section 3.4 (Emergency Hospitalization – outside the geographical boundaries of India) and Section 3.5 (Specified Illness cover for treatment outside the geographical boundaries of India). e. Post-hospitalization Medical Expenses incurred on Physiotherapy will also be payable provided that such Physiotherapy is Medically Necessary and advised by the treating Medical Practitioner and has been availed under as Complementary & Alternative Medicine only.
