Posting for Positions. (a) Part-time positions shall be posted, and the provisions of article 5 of the agreement shall apply. (b) Part-time employees shall have the opportunity to apply for full-time and part- time positions after it has been determined that full-time and permanent part-time employees will not be awarded the positions. (c) In order to provide continuity of service, the Board may use part-time employees to fill a position until a competition is completed, for a period not exceeding twelve (12) months, excluding for position vacancies due to pregnancy or parental leave, sick leave, long-term disability, and WSIB or other leave of absence due to illness or injury.
