Common use of Probationary Instructors Clause in Contracts

Probationary Instructors. 4.6.1 Probationary instructors’ appointments to regular instructor status outside of the process outlined in Article 4.9, (Change in Type of Appointment), shall have a one year probationary period as per Article 2.18, (Probationary Regular). 4.6.2 Probationary regular instructors shall be evaluated as per Article 16, (Evaluation of Probationary Regular and Term Employees), in order to determine their suitability to perform their duties. In extenuating circumstances and with the mutual agreement of both parties, the probationary period may be extended for a period of up to one additional year. 4.6.3 The College reserves the right to waive the probationary period requirement of such appointments.
