Common use of Probationary Period – Transfers/Promotions Clause in Contracts

Probationary Period – Transfers/Promotions. An employee who is voluntarily transferred from one position within a wage classification to another position within wage classification, or; whom is promoted to a higher graded classification shall serve a 45 working day probationary period. If it is determined by the school district that the employee’s performance in the new position is unsatisfactory, the school district shall have the right to re-assign the employee to his/her former position. The employee may request to return to his/her position if it is still available. Otherwise, the re-assignment shall occur prior to the start of the subsequent school year.
