Promotions Requiring Higher Qualifications. Internal applicants who are actively pursuing higher qualifications, as determined by the Employer, may be considered for promotion to a new or vacant position requiring those higher qualifications. Appointment will be on a trial basis. Failure to achieve the required qualifications within a period of time established by the Employer, in its discretion, will result in the Employee being removed from the position and returned to her/his former position.
