Promotions Requiring Higher Qualifications. Consideration for promotion will be given to the senior applicant, who is currently licensed/certified, who does not possess the required qualifications but is preparing for such qualifications prior to filling of a vacancy and indicates so on his/her application. Such employee will be given an opportunity to qualify within a reasonable length of time not exceeding two (2) months unless there is mutual consent between the Union and the Employer to extend the length of time, but in no case shall the total length of time to qualify for the position exceed thirteen (13) weeks. If the employee has commenced working in the position, he/she shall revert to his/her former position if required qualifications are not met within such time. Any other employee promoted or transferred because of the rearrangements of positions shall also be returned to his/her former position, wage or salary rate, without loss of seniority.
