Protection, Treatment. (1) Each Contracting Party shall protect within its territory investments made in accordance with its laws and regulations by investors of the other Contracting Party and shall not impair by unreasonable or discriminatory measures the Management, maintenance, use, enjoyment, extension, sale or liquidation of such investments. In particular, each Contracting Party or its competent authorities shall issue the necessary authorizations mentioned in Article 2, paragraph (2), of this Agreement.
(2) Each Contracting Party shall ensure fair and equitable treatment within its territory of the investments of the investors of the other Contracting Party. This treatment shall not be less favourable than that granted by each Contracting Party to investments made within its territory by its own investors, or than that granted by each Contracting Party to the investments made within its territory by investors of any third state, if this latter treatment is more favourable.
(3) The most favoured nation clause shall not be construed so as to oblige a Contracting Party to extend to the investors and investments of the other Contracting Party the advantages resulting from any existing or future customs or economic union or a free trade area, to which either of the Contracting Parties is or becomes a member. Nor shall such treatment relate to any advantage which either Contracting Party accords to investors of a third state by virtue of a double taxation agreement or other agreements on a reciprocal basis regarding tax matters.
Protection, Treatment. (1) Investments and returns of investors of each Contracting Party shall at all times be accorded fair and equitable treatment and shall enjoy full protection and security in the territory of the other Contracting Party. Neither Contracting Party shall in any way impair by unreasonable or discriminatory measures the management, maintenance, use, enjoyment, extension, or disposal of such investments.
(2) Each Contracting Party shall in its territory accord investments or returns of investors of the other Contracting Party treatment not less favourable than that which it accords to investments or returns of its own investors or to investments or returns of investors of any third State, whichever is more favourable to the investor concerned.
(3) Each Contracting Party shall in its territory accord investors of the other Contracting Party, as regards the management, maintenance, use, enjoyment or disposal of their investments, treatment not less favourable than that which it accords to its own investors or investors of any third State, whichever is more favourable to the investor concerned.
(4) If a Contracting Party accords special advantages to investors of any third State by virtue of an agreement establishing a free trade area, a customs union or a common market or by virtue of an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation, it shall not be obliged to accord such advantages to investors of the other Contracting Party.

However, in the case of Lebanon this sub-paragraph does not apply to treatment granted to investors of other Arab Countries particularly with respect to property ownership; in the case of Armenia, this sub-paragraph does not apply to treatment granted to Lebanese investors with respect to property ownership.

Protection, Treatment. 1. Investments and activities associated with investments of investors of either Contracting Party shall be accorded fair and equitable treatment and shall enjoy protection in the territory of the other Contracting Party.
2. The treatment and protection referred to in paragraph 1 and 2 of this Article shall not be less favourable than that accorded to investments and activities associated with such investments of investors of a third State.
3. The treatment and protection as mentioned in Paragraph 1 and 2 of this Article shall not include any preferential treatment accorded by the other Contracting Party to investments of investors of a third State based on customs union, free trade zone, economic union, agreement relating to avoidance of double taxation or for facilitating frontier trade.
Protection, Treatment. Neither Contracting Party shall impair by unreasonable or discriminatory measures the management, maintenance, use, enjoyment, extension or disposal of such investments.
(2) Each Contracting Party shall in its territory accord to investments and returns of investors of the other Contracting Party treatment not less favourable than that which it accords to investments and returns of its own investors or to investments and returns of investors of any third State, whichever is more favourable to the investor concerned.
(3) Each Contracting Party shall in its territory accord to investors of the other Contracting Party, as regards the management, maintenance, use, enjoyment or disposal of their investments, treatment not less favourable than that which it accords to its own investors or investors of any third State, whichever is more favourable to the investor concerned.
(4) Treatment as referred to in paragraphs 2 and 3 shall not include special advantages accorded by a Contracting Party to investors of any third State by virtue of an existing or future agreement establishing a free trade area, a customs union or a common market or by virtue of an existing or future agreement on the avoidance of double taxation.
(5) It is understood that the most favoured nation treatment as referred to in paragraphs 2 and 3 does not apply to mechanisms for the settlement of investment disputes provided for in other international investment agreements concluded by the Contracting Party concerned.
Protection, Treatment. Neither Contracting Party shall in any way impair by unreasonable or discriminatory measures the management, maintenance, use, enjoyment, extension, or disposai of such investments.
(2) Each Contracting Party shall in its territory accord investments or retums of Investors of the other Contracting Party treatment not less favourable than that which it accords to investments or retums of its own Investors or to investments or retums of Investors of any third State, whichever is more favourable to the Investor concemed.
(3) Each Contracting Party shall in its territory accord Investors of the other Contracting Party, as regards the management, maintenance, use, enjoyment or disposai of their investments, treatment not less favourable than that which it accords to its own Investors or Investors of any third State, whichever is more favourable to the Investor concemed.
(4) [fa Contracting Party accords spécial advantages to Investors of any third State by virtue of an agreement establishing a free trade area, a customs union or a common market or by virtue of an intemational agreement regarding matters of taxation, it shall not be obliged to accord such advantages to Investors ofthe other Contracting Party.

4. The treatment of the most favoured nation according to this Article shall not be construed so as to oblige one Contracting Party to extend to investors of the other the benefit of any treatment, preference or privilege resulting from:
a) Any existing or future free trade area, customs union, common market, economic union, or any similar regional economic organisation, to which either Contracting Party is or may become a party, or
b) Any international agreement relating wholly or mainly to taxation.
