Provider Cultural Competency Requirements. In accordance with 42 CFR §438.206(c), the MCO must ensure that services are provided in a culturally competent manner to all enrollees, including: those with limited English proficiency or reading skills, those with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, the homeless, and individuals with physical and mental disabilities, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity. The MCO must also ensure that network providers provide physical access, reasonable accommodations, and accessible equipment for Medicaid enrollees with physical or mental disabilities.
