Common use of Providing Assistance Clause in Contracts

Providing Assistance. (1) The competent authority of the Party affected by a disaster may request assistance from the competent authority of the other Party. Assistance may include rescue teams and individual experts, protection and rescue equipment, and humanitarian aid. (2) A request for assistance referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article should contain information on the type and scope of a disaster, information on the type and scope of requested assistance, information on institutions and persons with whom a connection is to be established and who are responsible for accepting particular types of assistance, as well as a proposal for the manner of providing assistance and should be submitted in writing in the official language of the other Party or/and in the English language. (3) In addition to information referred to in paragraph 2 of this Article, a request for humanitarian aid in the form of medication and medical supplies must also include a list of all necessary documents required for the import of medication and medical supplies taken into the territory of the Receiving State. (4) Assistance shall be provided in accordance with the national law of the Parties.
