Public/Association Office Leave. A leave of absence for up to one (1) year will be granted to teachers to serve in a public office or as an officer of the MEA or NEA for performance of official duties. The commencement and termination dates for such leave will be determined in advance by the Superintendent and the teacher taking into account natural breaks in the school year calendar.
