Purpose of Committee. The Employer and the Union agree that a need exists for closer cooperation between labor and management, and that from time to time suggestions and issues of a general nature affecting the Union and the Employer need consideration. The Labor/Management Committee shall have no collective bargaining authority and understandings reached by the parties will be supported by the parties, but shall not alter or modify any provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
