Reallocation to a Class with a Higher Salary Range Maximum. 1. Upon appointment to the higher class, if the salary range for the higher class is less than six (6) ranges higher than the former class, the employee’s base salary will be increased to a step of the range for the new class that is nearest to five percent (5.0%) higher than the amount of the pre-promotional step, or to the entry step of the new range, whichever is higher. 2. If the salary range for the higher class is six (6) or more ranges higher than the former class, the employee’s base salary will be increased to a step of the range for the new class nearest to ten percent (10.0%) higher than the amount of the pre-promotional step, or the entry step of the new range, whichever is higher.

1. Employees promoted to a position in a class whose range for the higher class is less than six (6) ranges higher than the range of the former class, the employee’s base salary class will be increased advanced to a step of the range for the new class class, that is nearest to five percent (5.05%) higher than the amount of the pre-promotional step, or to the entry step of the new range, whichever is higher.
2. If the salary Employees promoted to a position in a class whose range for the higher class is six (6) or more ranges higher than the range of the former class, the employee’s base salary class will be increased advanced to a step of the range for the new class class, that is nearest to ten percent (10.010%) higher than the amount of the pre-promotional step, or the entry step of the new range, whichever is higher.
