Rebuttal/Expungement. Employees shall have the right to respond in writing and/or through the grievance procedure to any materials placed in their official personnel file. Any written response by the employee shall be appended to the appropriate document. After three (3) years without any further disciplinary action, counseling session memos and verbal/written warnings, not involving any form of harassment, physical altercation or financial impropriety, shall be expunged from the employee’s official personnel file upon the written request of the employee within ten (10) business days of receipt of that request by the Director of Human Resources or his/her designee.
