Common use of Recognized Holiday Clause in Contracts

Recognized Holiday. The following days qualify as a holiday for the purposes of applying the holiday provisions of this article. No employees shall be unreasonably denied holiday leave requests to work on holidays in the following list. To be eligible for holiday pay, the employee must work scheduled shifts immediately preceding and following the recognized holiday. Holidays Qualifying for Premium Pay if Assigned and Worked: • New Year’s Day • MLK Jr Day • Presidents Day • Memorial Day • Independence Day • Labor Day • Thanksgiving Day • Christmas Day The Employer shall publish an annual list of the actual date of observance of the holidays listed above, if different from the calendar holiday.
