Redundancy minimization and Transfer Options. The retention of Employees in meaningful positions will be a priority for the Employer. As an alternative to redundancy, the Employer may offer the option of transferring Employees to other positions within the Ipswich site subject to the following considerations: -. a) Where a suitable position can be identified at the Employee’s classification level and within the Employee’s skill and competency to perform, the person can be reassigned to the position and a redundancy will not be available. b) Where a suitable position is identified, that is different from the person’s current classification level and work area, the Employee may undertake a trial of the responsibilities of the new role for a period of up to one month, to assess his/her long- term suitability for the new position. During this trial period the Employee will be paid at his/her substantive rate of pay. (i) If during, or at the completion of the trial period, the Employer or Employee establish that the new position is not suitable, the redundancy package will be available to the Employee at the Employee’s substantive rate of pay. (ii) If the Employee agrees to be transferred to the new position, he/she will be paid the rate of pay and employment conditions of the new classification. The redundancy package will not then be available to the Employee. c) There will be no demarcation between positions within the Employer as long as the person has the appropriate competency or is being trained in the competency.
