Rehires – Relief Nurses. 14.5.1 If rehired into the same or similar unit or area at the same commitment previously held and maintained within twelve (12) months of resignation, the Relief Nurse is placed at the Relief Clinical Nurse II step that had been attained at the time of resignation. In the case of the rehiring of a Nurse who had been employed as a Clinical Nurse III or IV, the Nurse shall be rehired as a Clinical Nurse II and the Nurse may reapply for Clinical Nurse III or IV status at the next available application period. If hiring into a different unit or area the Relief Nurse will be treated as a new hire. 14.5.2 If rehired after twelve (12) months from resignation, the Relief Nurse will be considered as a new hire. The Employer will evaluate any intervening employment to determine appropriate step placement.
