Common use of Release and Discipline of Probationer Clause in Contracts

Release and Discipline of Probationer. During the original probationary period, an employee may be released from their position or disciplined by the City Manager or Department Head at any time and without cause, without any right of appeal or the right to submit a grievance. During the promotional probationary period, and employee may be released from their position by the City Manager or Department Head but maintain their seniority and bumping rights as defined in Section 5 of the Policy.
