Common use of Release Time Clause in Contracts

Release Time. The Association may request that a reasonable number of employees, who serve as official representatives of the Association, be released from work, with prior department head approval, without loss of compensation when meeting and conferring with the County where matters within the scope of representation are being considered. The Association shall submit a written request for release time to the department head, or designee, at least seventy-two (72) hours in advance of the meeting. The use of County time for this purpose shall not be excessive, nor shall it interfere with the performance of County services as determined by the department head.
