Common use of Release Time Clause in Contracts

Release Time. When the Union wishes to be represented by a County employee(s) rather than a business representative at meetings within the scope of representation which affect the Unit, such employee representative(s) will have release time for presentations to County boards, committees and commissions and for meeting with management at the department and county- wide level. A written notice will be provided to the County’s negotiating representative and the department head at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to the scheduled meeting unless waived by mutual agreement. Reasonable release time will be approved if it does not interfere with the performance of County services, as determined by the department head.
