Relief of Higher Rank. All employees covered by the terms of this Agreement who are temporarily required to assume the duties and responsibilities of an employee of higher rank, shall be paid the rate of pay of the higher rank, for the period so employed, provided that the Fire Chief has approved or authorized the employee to assume the duties of the higher rank. Suppression Branch employees who act in the position of Company Officer will receive the acting Captain rate of pay.
